Collection
The museum has been located since 1882 in Villa Cassis Faraone di Aquileia. The exhibition is mounted on different floors. On the ground floor there is the funerary sculpture. Part of the first floor is dedicated to the rites performed during the empire age, while the other halls exhibit bronze finds (fibula, small bronzes, objects for personal care and for house lighting),glassware, eartehnware, table crockery, amphora and oil-lamps. The itinerary is completed by two more sections, the numismatic one (ranging from early Roman coins discovered in the area to coins of Aquileia imperial mint to patriarchal coins)and a section dedicated to amber, the precious fossil resin coming from the Baltic area and processed in Aquileia: funerary outfit and objects among which rings, sceptres, fruits, small statues. In the garden there are lapidary galleries.
