Collection

Opened with this structure in 1995, this museum is located in the fascinating Palazzo Patriarcale, now Arcivescovile, preserved with the same structure commissioned in the XVIII century by patriarch Dionisio Delfino and by his successor Daniele. The collection gathers paintings, goldsmith and wooden sculptures. Of great importance are the frescos by Giambattista Tiepolo. The main staircase is frescoed with the scene of "The Expulsion of the Rebel Angels", while the Galleries illustrate biblical episodes. In the Sala Rossa, or del Tribunale Ecclesiastico, there is a big fresco representing Salomon's Judgement and the four main prophets Isaiah, Jeremy, Ezekiel and Daniel. Quite important are also the works by Giovanni da Udine. In the Biblioteca Delfino, built on request of patriarch Dionisio, illuminated manuscripts, incunabula, books published in the XVI century and rare first editions are on show.
